A learn to dive holiday is a great way to spend your holiday time, learning in perfect conditions with warm crystal clear waters. A learn to dive holiday is great for both single travelers as well as a family dive holiday as children from 10to14 can complete the Junior Open Water Course.
Whilst there are a handful of destinations that offer BSAC courses, almost all of our dive holiday resorts offer the PADI Open Water Course recognised the world over, enabling you to progress you diver training, or just enjoy leisure dives, anywhere. If you opt for the full beginner course, taking you from a complete novice, through to qualified recreational diver, this normally takes 4-5 days. On a one week diving holiday this means you can normally fit in the beginner dive course plus 1-2 days recreational diving.
The beginner course will involve theory and ‘confined water’ in a pool, or similar, followed by 4 qualifying dives over the next 2 days. It is also possible to opt for a PADI Open Water Referral course that involves completing the pool and theory work at home so you can just do the qualifying dives on holiday.
Note : Prior to starting your lean to dive course you will asked to sign off a PADI ‘fitness to dive’ form. If you think you may have any condition that may be cause for concern you can download a PADI Dive Medical form to be completed by your doctor. This will then ensure that you can start the course.
